five: to start my spring

**As transcribed from a handwritten reflection in my journal.

I feel like a bear before hibernation, like my surgery and recovery are the entrance into four to six weeks of retreat and contemplation. Letting things sit and stir and heal and transform into something new, unexpected, and unplanned.

It's as if I'm preparing my cave, making sure that my world continues to run smoothly without me while I'm gone.

I'll be back well-rested and inspired, with new things created and tried and ready to begin.

To start my spring.
